"The cloud" was always a rental agreement. You send your data to a building you'll never see, run it on hardware you'll never touch, and pay every month for the privilege. The bill scales with your success. The control never does. And to meet demand, the industry keeps pouring concrete — another hyperscale warehouse, another substation, another few hundred megawatts.
But the compute the world is scrambling to build already exists. It's charging on a nightstand right now. There are billions of idle Android devices out there, each one more powerful than a server from a decade ago, each one doing nothing for hours a day while it sips power on a cable.
You don't rent the cloud anymore. You are the cloud.
That's the idea behind ACE Cloud: instead of building another data center, we build it out of the devices people already own. You add your phone as a node. When it's idle and charging, it quietly does verified work for paying customers — and you earn for every hour the platform can prove was real. They built warehouses. We're building a network of neighbors.
How It Works — Three Steps, Then It Runs Itself
1. Contribute. Install the ACE Node app and enroll your device with a tap. Connect a payout account through Stripe's secure onboarding. Then set your rules: charging-only, Wi-Fi-only, a battery floor below which the app never touches your phone. Sensible defaults come pre-set — you can tighten them, never loosen past safe.
2. It runs invisibly. When your device is idle and within your rules, ACE Cloud schedules verified workloads to it. They run sandboxed, in their own isolated space, with hard limits on CPU, memory, and storage — walled off from your photos, messages, and other apps. You see resource stats — CPU, memory, network, earnings — and nothing else. No workload names. No customer names. Your notification reads something like "ACE Cloud active · 2 workloads · 4% CPU" and never more. That isn't a missing feature; it's the design.
3. You earn. Every contribution is checked before it pays. The platform verifies a cryptographic attestation that real work ran on your real device for a real window of time. Verified hours accrue, settle on a schedule, and pay out through Stripe once you clear the minimum — real money, not tokens. A phone that's idle-while-charging a few hours a day earns modest, passive income. Think pocket money, not a paycheck. We show it transparently and never inflate the numbers.
Two Strangers, Zero Exposure
ACE Cloud is built on an unusual promise: the person who owns the device and the person who buys the compute never see each other.
You can't see what runs on your device — on purpose. The app deliberately discards workload identity before anything reaches your screen. You're never asked to vouch for, or be liable for, code you can't identify.
The customer can't see you. Buyers get verified compute hours and proof the work ran on genuine hardware — not your identity, your location, or a window into your phone. They trust the platform's attestation, exactly the way you trust a cloud provider's attestation that your VM ran on real hardware.
Proof replaces trust. Every paid hour carries a signed attestation binding this device, this time window, this work. Your device's secure enclave proves the hardware is genuine without exposing anything about you. It's the piece a graveyard of "rent your idle PC" projects always missed: the buyer could never prove the work was really done, by a real machine, honestly. Here, proof is the product — and as the platform's provenance ledger reaches production, you'll be able to verify every dollar you earned against a tamper-evident record, not a promise.
Not Mining. Real Compute.
To be clear about what this is not: ACE Cloud does not mine cryptocurrency and never will. There are no coins, no tokens, no speculation. You contribute genuine compute and bandwidth to real customers running real workloads, and you're paid in real money through Stripe. The runtime underneath descends from the Android Container Engine — the same container engine vetted for defense use — so "who certified the thing running on my phone?" has an actual answer.
The Data Center You Don't Have to Build
Pull back from one glowing phone to thousands of them across a city at night, and they resolve into the silhouette of a data center — built out of people's devices instead of one giant warehouse. That's the whole thesis. The greenest, cheapest, most sovereign capacity is the capacity that already exists, idle, in everyone's hands. It needs no chiller, no raised floor, no new substation. It just needs software to put it to work safely.
And because the compute happens on devices at the edge — often in the same building as the data — it comes with something the hyperscalers can't sell you: sovereignty by default. When the device that generates the data is the device that processes it, the data never has to leave.
Honest About the Frontier
This is early, and we won't pretend otherwise. Turning consumer devices into trustworthy infrastructure is a hard problem we're solving in the open: workloads run sandboxed and compute-only, every contribution is attested, and network isolation and enforcement gates are being hardened before this scales to arbitrary third-party work. Earnings figures are modeled, not measured, until the marketplace is live. Today it's Android; macOS is on the roadmap. We'd rather show you where the edge of the map is than sell you past it.
But the direction is set. The economics are lopsided, the hardware already exists, and the only thing between the world and a cloud it owns is the software to run it safely. That's what we build — and you can be part of it.
